Gotta WALK before you Run....Read These Instructions- at least Once
Before you build a LandWalk Tour that will allow your customers to “hike” the property, you need to take a few steps:
• Acquire a suitable aerial photo of the property.
• Take digital photos of the property from various vantage points

* Many people find taking a printed copy of the aerial photo with them to the property, marking approximate locations of the pictures helps in building the tour.
The size/quality of your pictures will affect uploading time. It’s great to have 4, 6, 8 MB pictures for printing, but NOT when emailing or working quickly around the web. LandWalk is most efficiently built using either the Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Browser or Internet Explorer 8.0. Firefox is a free browser and can be quickly downloaded and installed. Internet Explorer 8.0 is generally an upgrade for Window’s systems. We provide links for both throughout our site. We recommend that you follow these steps carefully to minimize your time building your LandWalk Tour.
  1. Print a copy of your BackGround image (aerial photo) to carry with you when taking the ViewPoint pictures. Mark your approximate location on the copy and number the pictures as you take them, noting the direction of each.

  2. Create an empty Main Folder on your Desktop. Name that folder so you can easily identify it later, probably using the Property Address or Seller’s Name.

  3. Open that ONE Main Folder then create two (2) additional empty folders inside. Label/Name one of the new folders “BackGround” and the other “ViewPoints”. Place the BackGround Image in the “BackGround” folder and place ViewPoint pictures in the “ViewPoints” folder. You may be downloading pictures from your digital camera, a flashdrive or other portable source, or, capturing a GIS aerial from the web. Regardless, put them in their respective folders within the ONE Main Folder on your desktop.

  4. Now you are ready to upload your pictures in the Most Efficient Manner.
Use picture resizing software (Windows Office Picture Manager works well) to reduce the size of ALL the pictures. There are many free picture sizing software products available to download. This will shorten the wait time of uploads. Optimal picture size is no more than 1024 x 768 at 72 dpi.
